Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Ward Clerk, preferably with some previous administration experience to work within Elective Orthopaedics at the Leicester General Hospital.

The applicant needs to have computer skills, good communication skills and experience of working in a team.

You will be the first point of contact when patients and visitors arrive onto our Ward, and will undertake such duties as maintaining a clean and tidy environment, keeping our patient centre system up to date, including admission transfers and discharges of patients, taking responsibility for inpatient / outpatient notes, answering telephone calls and queries from clients, relatives and members of the multi-disciplinary team and forwarding enquiries to appropriate staff as well as helping to ensure the smooth running of the ward by undertaking administrative duties in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

  • Maintaining a clean and tidy environment, and reporting all incidents / accidents to Senior Staff.
  • To keep patient centre system up to date, including admission transfers and discharges of patients.
